Last Wednesday was an exciting day for the Stylecraft team.  We got together with Sara Huntington from Simply Crochet, Jane Crowfoot and Luise Roberts to judge the Colour Your Own Delft competition in sunny Barnet, North London The competition was the brain wave of Jane Crowfoot herself. After the success of the recoloured Persian Jewels blanket by Lucia Dunn called Eastern Jewels, she became intrigued by the idea of re-working a different one of her designs. IMG_20190220_114115“I find it fascinating how re-colouring a design can completely change the way it looks, and I love to see other crocheters versions of my designs, especially those that have used an alternative colour palette,” Jane explained. “With this in mind I thought it would be really fun to invite the crocheting public to colour in a chart representation of one of my designs to see what wonderful ideas they can come up with.” The lovely people at Simply Crochet got on board and ran an outline illustration of Jane’s Delft motif in the magazine.  Readers were invited to colour it in and send it in to Jane’s offices and loads of you took part, using pencils, pens and even recolouring the design on computer – you clever people! There were entries from all over the UK in every colourway you can possibly imagine and the standard was extremely high.
