Following a very exciting and gruelling judging process in March with Sara Huntington, Commissioning Editor Simply Crochet Magazine, Jane Crowfoot and graphic designer Luise Roberts from Janie Crow and Stylecraft’s Sales and Marketing Director Annabelle Hill, we are now very excited to unveil the five finalists in the Colour Your Own Delft competition and put them to a public vote. To help you choose your favourite we thought we would tell you a bit more about each of the colourways. Rose Garden Delft CompRose Garden in Bloom is by Katie Mulliner from Stoke on Trent. She was inspired by the rose bushes she had in the garden of her childhood home which were her Dad’s pride and joy. Sample made in Stylecraft Bellissima DK, using 6 shades. Autumn BerriesAutumn Berries by Jen Mitchell from Wellington. Autumn is Jen’s favourite season, so she chose colours of rich hedgerow berries and fruit – blackberries, plums and apples, with complimentary greens. Sample made in Stylecraft Special DK using 8 shades. Bejewelled Delft CompBejewelled is by Jackie Walker from Chandlers Ford. Jackie loves the computer game Bejewelled (don’t we all) and I wanted to create a motif that radiated opulence, warmth and glamour. Being wrapped in these colours would make her feel beautiful and shine like a jewel. Sample made in Stylecraft Special DK using 7 shades. Golden Pears Delft CompGolden Pears and Plums is by Kate Wotton from Melton Mowbray. Kate was inspired by a tea towel of her Grandmother’s, decorated with gold and green squares and finely painted pears and plums. Sample made in Stylecraft Special DK using 8 shades. Fiore Delft CompFiore is by Debby Gould from London Debbie’s favourite colour is blue, which is why she liked the original Delft so much.  For her entry she decided to expand her colour choices and chose orchid shades because they are so vibrant and fabulous Sample made in Stylecraft Special DK using 8 shades. So now it’s over to you.  Voting is open here and you have until 30th April to make your decision.  There will be one winner and two runners up that will be announced in August when the colour packs will also be available.
