Meet our new Ambassadors - Part 1
Tuesday 28th January 2025
We are delighted to be able to introduce you to the Stylecraft Ambassadors, an amazingly talented bunch of people who you will see us collaborating with in the future.
Their design skills, eye for colour and detail, and all-round loveliness make us very excited about what the future has in store for you and us.
So, in no particular order here is part 1 showcasing these amazingly talented people.
Stuart Hillard
Stuart is a knitter, sewer, TV presenter, author, columnist and designer who has worked in the creative industries for over 20 years and appeared in the first series of The Great British Sewing Bee.
Jeanette Sloan BEM
Jeanette Sloan is a knitwear designer renowned for her accessory patterns. Her work expresses a long-held passion for making and a belief that our creative time is precious, so, why not use it to make something gorgeous? Her joyful colour aesthetic, love of embellishment and eye for unusual detail reflect her personal style and provide her with constant inspiration.
Emma Varnam
Emma learnt how to knit as a child, and throughout adolescence was happiest sewing, making and creating little projects in her spare time. She trained as an art curator and museum manager, and now is a senior manager in local government.
Lucy Attic 24
Lucy trained in art and textiles and was always drawn to bright colours when she worked with fabric and stitch. Teaching herself to crochet using a small book, she managed to produce one very wobbly granny square which was the starting point for her homespun, self-taught crochet journey.
Helen Shrimpton Crystals and Crochet
Helen has never been one to conform and feels the labels that we put on ourselves are so limiting!
Her story could be called from Hairdresser to Healer to Hookologist!
Phil Saul The twisted Yarn
Dr Phil is an NHS clinical psychologist and a knitting/crochet writer. She lives in a leaky, wonky, old, converted brewery in a village with her husband and twins. She also designs quirky knits and crocheted home wares which can be found on her blog and on Ravelry
Polly Plum
At about 12 years of age Polly Plum was taught to crochet and read crochet patterns by her mother. Polly made a few things but didn’t pick up her hook too much over her teenage years. Polly lives in the enchanting high desert of New Mexico with her partner, their two daughters, a dog, a cat, and a chicken. She loves to design crochet blankets and granny squares that are clever and unexpected, but still a joy to make.
Lucia’s Fig Tree
Lucia is originally from a small village in Northern Italy but has been living in Scotland for the last 25 years.
She studied architecture at University in Venice and her love for fabrics, interiors, colours and yarn has not only been part of her job but also her hobby too.
Make sure you check out the next post to meet the rest of the Stylecraft Ambassadors.
