Have you seen our wonderfully squidgy new yarn called Squeeze Me?  It is already going down so well with knitters and crocheters which isn’t a surprise with so many colours to choose from.

Squeeze Me is ideal for both crochet and knitting projects so whether you are creating cosy blankets, snuggly garments, or plush toys, Squeeze Me will add a touch of luxury and comfort to every stitch.

So how do we come up with a new yarn?  Well, we are working about 18 months ahead of a launch date so way back at the beginning of 2023 we noticed a strong trend for home comforts and the popularity of touchy-feely yarns.

Then the development starts in earnest, working with our suppliers to make a velvety soft yarn that is irresistibly tactile. Next, we develop a palette of 20 colours that will work together, which is especially important to crocheters who love a bit of ambitious colour work. The shades range from serene neutrals and soothing pastels to lively and energetic brights.

So, what happens next? Our head of design gets creative, the samples are knitted or crocheted, the photo shoot is done and before you know it our 18-month development period is over. That’s when it gets really exciting for us because you, lovely reader, can get your hands on Squeeze Me at your local yarn shop.

We love to see what you make with any new yarn, and we have already spotted a couple of completed projects from some very speedy makers.

To give you some inspiration and ideas of how to use Squeeze Me we have launched a set of nine patterns.  They include cardigans and sweaters featuring exciting colour work, jackets and blankets which use interesting stitch work and crocheted motifs and a huggable flamingo, swan and duck.
