Using 3¼ mm needles, A and thumb method cast on 42[46:46:54:54:58] sts.
Work in rib as given for Back until work measures 4[5:5:6:6:6] cm, 1½[2:2:2¼:2¼:2¼] in, ending with a rs row.
Next row (WS). Rib 4[4:4:2:4:4], work 2 tog, (rib 6[7:7:6:9:6], work 2 tog) 4[4:4:6:4:6] times, rib 4[4:4:2:4:4]. 37[41:41:47:49:51] sts.
Change to 4 mm needles.
Beg with a k row, now work in st-st throughout as follows:
Inc 1 st at each end of 5th[5th:5th:3rd:3rd:3rd] and 0[0:0:0:6:14] foll 4th rows, then on 6[9:11:12:8:3] foll 6th rows.
